How to Delete Your Account

Delete Your Account In-App
You can delete your ParentConnect account directly from within the app at any time. Follow these steps:
- Open the ParentConnect app on your device
- Navigate to Profile tab (bottom right)
- Tap Settings
- Select Privacy & Security
- Tap Delete Account
- Enter your account password to verify your identity
- Type DELETE (in capital letters) to confirm
- Tap the final confirmation button
⚠️ Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data will be deleted immediately and cannot be recovered.
What Data Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following information is permanently removed from our systems:
- Profile and account information - Your name, email, phone number, profile photo, and all personal details
- Children's information - All information about your children including age ranges and preferences
- Message history - All direct messages and conversations with other parents
- Preferences and settings - Your app preferences, notification settings, and privacy choices
- Saved places and events - Your saved locations, favorite places, and event registrations
- Photos and content - All photos, images, and media you've uploaded
- Friend connections - Your friend list and connection history
What Data Gets Anonymized
Some information is anonymized rather than deleted to maintain platform integrity:
- Community posts and comments - Your public posts remain visible but are attributed to "[Deleted User]" instead of your name. This preserves community conversations while removing your identity.
- Support tickets - Support conversations are anonymized and retained for record-keeping and quality improvement purposes.
Anonymized data cannot be traced back to you or used to identify you in any way.
When Is Data Deleted?
When you delete your account, the deletion process happens immediately:
- Your personal data is deleted from our systems as soon as the deletion completes
- Community content (posts, comments, events) is anonymized in real-time to preserve community context
- All photos and files are removed from storage immediately
- Your authentication account is permanently deleted
The deletion process typically completes within a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on how much data you have.
Can't Access the App?
If you're unable to delete your account through the app (for example, if you've lost access to your device or forgotten your password), you can request manual account deletion:

Include in your email:
- Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
- The email address associated with your account
- Your full name as it appears in the app
- Any additional information to verify your identity
We will verify your identity and process your deletion request within 45 days of receiving your email.
Before You Delete
Before deleting your account, consider the following:
- Unsubscribe instead: If you're receiving too many notifications, you can adjust your notification settings without deleting your account
- Take a break: You can simply log out and return later without losing your account
- Privacy controls: Review your privacy settings if you're concerned about data sharing - you can limit what information is visible to others
